Applying lime to the soil helps achieve the proper pH balance so that certain key nutrients become more available. Lime reduces the acidity in the soil which creates a healthier, more natural soil environment for your grass. An appropriate soil pH will also encourage soil microbes to convert nitrogen to useable form, for plant uptake.
